The Geneva Cemetery is the final resting place for many Soldiers who fought for this country. These wars include the Civil war, Veitnam. WW2 and Korea. There are reportedly 17 Confederate Soldiers and 2 Union Soldiers. The person who is most famous resting here is Lewis Thornton Paine. He was one of several people who conspired with John Wilks Booth in the Assassination of Abraham Lincon. At the age of 21, Lewis was convicted and hung in Washington. He was later moved to Geneva Cemetery and placed next to his Mother. Although this Cemetery is a Historical Site, there are still new grave markers and non-military people buried here.
